November 1, 2012 Mati on the Holidays
Travelling from Surigao the previous day, I endured the 11 hours trip to Mati, Davao Oriental. My trip coincided with the holidays of November and it was a good time to visit my relatives there. I arrived with an aunt by 6AM in Mati bus terminal. Finally I was able to set foot on this place.
And since it's was All Saint's Day, I also went to the cemetery with my relatives. By evening, we spent quite some time by the baywalk where people go to relax and feel the cool sea breeze. The pier was just nearby. The city gave a different feel from the usual busy life in Surigao. Life was so simple and quiet in Mati where time was slow moving.

November 2, 2012 Checking the Beach
It was my second day and Kuya Bernard, my cousin, took me to the beach. We hired a tricycle that took us there passing through farms on our way. It took about 15 minutes from the city center to reach the beach. We took a few yards walk and settled to a shady part of the beach. Dahikan beach is a stretch of fine white sand along Pujada bay. It is popular among surfing and skim boarding enthusiast.
November 3, 2012 Home Bound
On our way to Davao City, we passed by the "sleeping dinosaur" along the way. I was only able to see it then because it was broad daylight unlike last last time when we arrive at dusk. It is a land formation that resembles that of a dinosaur. Later in the evening, I boarded the bus from Davao City to Surigao. It was another long trip home again with piles of work waiting at my table the next day.
