July 14, 2012 Overnight in Surigao City
Pong had just came from re-assignment in Palawan. He missed most of the outing of the group so we decided to have an outing at the city during the weekend. Sir Ian suggested we visit Fiesta Dive Resort and spend the night in the city. The resort is located in Barangay Ipil in Surigao City, just near Mabua pebble beach. Came Saturday, we did not render overtime so as to be able to ride the service bus going to the city. As usual, we from production department (Pong, Kelvin, Dexter, Louie, Sir Ian and I) tagged along Homer from the IT section. Campsite to city is just 1 and a half hours drive so we arrived by 630PM. Arriving at the city, we went to buy some stuffs first then had a quick dinner. By 730PM, we hired a multicab to bring us to the resort. It was already 8PM when we arrived and we checked-in immediately. Sir Ian had a reservation prior to our outing. We had a family room good for 8 persons for PhP3500. It was a huge room that I could do a cartwheel. We had asked for extra beds since there were only two king sized beds at the room. There were seven of us.
Having settles our things in the room, we change into swim clothes to try the pool in the resort. There were also other groups partying that time. The water was cold with the wind blowing towards us. Homer brought with him his newly bought underwater camera and we put it to the test. We stayed only until 10PM because it was getting cold and for us to start the drinking session.
We waited for everyone to shower and change clothes before we started with the tequila shots. We had 2 bottles of tequila which was bought earlier. For some it is quite pricey but I believe my financiers are affluent. Talk about belonging to the working class. Pong being bounded by a different belief did not participate in the drinking but he has the fruit juices for him. There was so much playing and joking around in the room. We emptied the bottles come midnight with Pong already secured a spot on the king bed. Most wanted to sleep at the floor so I just settled on the king bed too.
July 15, 2013 The Morning After
The next day, everyone woke up early on the silence of the moment. We can see the sun had rose already from the coconut trees outside our rooms. When everyone was already wide awake and found their composure, we went to the beach in front of the resort to take a swim. The water was cold at first but then we got immune to it. We were treated to a great view of the sun rising with the sea and mountain as background. Time check 7AM. Later we went back to the resort for breakfast. Some already went ahead to order our food. While waiting for our breakfast to be served, some of us swam on the pool. By 8AM, breakfast was served at the grounds. We opted to have it outside for the view although their restaurant is also a good option.
More Fun Under The Sun
We noticed that we were the only people who spent the night in the resort. We were the only ones enjoying the moment by the poolside. After breakfast, we continued our conversations on a small pool. As the sun continued to rise, to did the fun. Pong, Homer, Dexter, Louie and Kelvin even had a backflip contest of sort. Everyone enjoyed the remaining time before check-out time.
By 10AM we were already ready to go. While the rest of us were showering and changing clothes, someone contacted the driver of the service bus that was scheduled to go to the city. We just asked the driver to dropped us at the city plaza where we usually parks while waiting for 12 noon.
From the plaza, we rode a multicab heading to the mall. We dropped by on a restaurant for early lunch. We decided to try Dales Food House this time. Time check 1030AM.
It was still early right after lunch so we went to do some errands still. We later rode the service bus going home by 2PM. Our outing was so much fun which made look forward to the next trip.
